Tour de Cure is a charity that promotes cycling events where participants raise money for cancer. It has a national presence and has been in operation for over a decade. Our job was to improve the technology on which the organisation runs.
We started with six weeks of business analysis - digging into the fine details of how the organisation should best function online. This involved detailed stakeholder consultations to carve out an optimal operations model. The results were documented with online wireframes that all stakeholders understood and could freely comment on.
Next step, pick the technology platform. We split the technology between the content management system Umbraco and a custom ASP.NET MVC platform to model the core business functions. Given our experience in developing such solutions, it was easy to create an accurate timeline which we delivered to.
Another significant challenge was migrating data from a Postgresql database to SQL Server. The database had become denormalised over time and we created scripts to move in to SQL Server whilst resolving all irregularities.
This was a standout job for Yart that delivered the platform Tour de Cure needed.
